Default sanding between sealer and top coats

I have stripped stained(per my wife's request) my oak kitchen cabinets and doors. Its a large project for me(about 15 doors and 10 drawers plus base). Just put GF sanding sealer on base. The wood surface has fine grain to the touch, but looks great just not like glass, given the grain and size of the project and door contours I'm considering not sanding between the reminder of the coats( will be using GF high performance water base top coat to finish). Everything i read says i have to do this but i would sure like to skip the extra work if it won't ruin my project? Has anybody done this?

The sanding sealer is just a soft finish which is easy to sand. If you sand this to a smooth finish, the coats of High Performance will just need a light sanding. I normally find a very quick run over with a sanding pad or orbital mouse sander with a fine grit is fine, followed by wiping down with a damp cloth.
